Don’t miss out

I don’t want to miss out. I don’t want to waste my calling or give up on it. Being a foster parent is HARD. It is LONELY. It is excruciatingly PAINFUL at times. It is an INCONVENIENCE. It makes you ANGRY. Angry at the broken system, the fallen world we live in, and the bad choices people make. So why do we do it?

I don’t want to miss the call God has on my life, or on the life of our family. I don’t want to come to the end of my life and look back with regret because I didn’t do what He asked me to do. I don’t want innocent children not to have a place to live when they’ve been taken from their homes, their families, by no fault of their own. I don’t want to call myself a Christian and not back it up with how I live my life.

What is God calling you to do? How would He have you make a significant difference in the life of others? What can you do to pick up your cross, carry it daily, and follow Him? How can you live a life that brings hope to others and glory to Him?

Every person’s calling is different because we are unique and special individuals hand crafted by the one who creates all things. I can say from personal experience that there is no greater satisfaction in life than living out your calling. Nothing can match the feeling of doing what you were created to do. There’s no way to top the fulfillment that comes from living out your destiny.

Is it easy? No. Does it require great sacrifice? Yes. Is it worth it? Without a doubt.

When I die and pass from this world to the next, I just want to hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

With love and admiration for your journey,

Kristin
